Dr. Gedela is a structural heart and interventional cardiologist who joined Heartland Cardiology in 2023. Dr. Gedela completed specialized fellowships in Structural Heart Disease and Interventional Cardiology at the nationally renowned Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. He also pursued a comprehensive Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. During his cardiology fellowship, he served as chief fellow, and as chief resident during his internal medicine residency. Dr. Gedela also contributed as a clinical instructor at the University of South Dakota, Sanford School of Medicine. Dr. Gedela’s commitment to academic excellence was further acknowledged with the John L Boice Internal Medicine Residency Scholarship award. His professionalism, leadership, and research led to his induction into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He received the distinguished Structural Challenging Case Contest award at the Cardiovascular Innovations Conference. Dr. Gedela’s published in several peer-reviewed medical journals and presented at various national conferences. He serves as a reviewer for esteemed medical journals. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys spending time with his wife and engaging in activities like working out, bike riding, and reading medical journals to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
