Why did you choose a career in health care?
I wanted to be a part of a greater purpose to take care of and heal others.
What is your greatest professional achievement?
Being a cardiologist with additional expertise in lipid, geriatrics, cardiac imaging and women’s heart disease.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced in your career?
Managing/coordinating my busy medical career and taking care of my family.
What was the best career decision you ever made?
Pursuing geriatric and cardiology training.
Who was your most important mentor?
My father, now deceased.
What is the best advice they gave you?
To work hard, take care of others and do what makes you happy.
What is the best advice you would give to someone considering a career in health care?
It is wonderful to know that you can make someone better with the knowledge we have as physicians.
Are you involved in the community?
Yes. Prior president of AMA. Currently I try to spend my time educating and giving lectures.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to read, exercise, and spend time with my family. My toddlers keep me busy.
How did the pandemic impact your job?
It has been very stressful for me and my family. I see patients daily and I follow the precautions at home and at work, so I do not contract Covid or spread the virus.
